Problem Statement
Figuring out what users want and discussing with the client
At first, the main page only featured the brand's story. To see the catalog of items, you had to click a button. The client wanted people to read the story, so the story and catalog were put on two different pages. But I thought it was a good idea to put a block with the top items from the catalog at the top of the main page. That way, people could quickly find what they were looking for and it would keep their interest.
Process
Designing a fluid grid for the catalog to keep the viewers engaged
I did some research into popular online shops. A lot of the top brands had some clever tactics on their catalog pages, like putting graphics and videos between products to make a long list of products look more interesting. I decided to go with a fluid grid, which isn't something you usually see on online shops. I made the top products stand out by making them bigger, or putting two or three products together in a line that went together.
Process
The main page includes: numerical information,
a carousel of videos,
columns, animated text

Self-reflection
Working on this project was a great learning experience for me as a freelancer. It was tricky at times, since I had to get used to doing a lot of new things — like copywriting. But I had a lot of fun and even came up with the phrase "inspired by the creativity of special children" for the brand's tagline. And of course I loved designing the digital style to go with the brand.
