At Huawei, we created new landing pages for each event to showcase special deals and drive more traffic to the official website.
My role
I created promotional landing pages for the themes "Hello Autumn," "Back to School," and "Neutral."
Highlights
Created icons
Updated Huawei App design
Adapted design content from HQ to the local market
It is essential to maintain consistency in style and design elements when creating a design for a new promotional page theme
Problem Statement
This will ensure a unified look and feel across the website.
Working for a global company like Huawei, it was often the case that content for general promotions was the same across different countries. After getting instructions from HQ, I managed to keep the key visuals while also making sure the design was suitable for the local market. I paid extra attention to the design elements like buttons, headers, and icons, making sure they were in line with the design code across all webpages.
Process
Adapting existing graphic content for local market
Redesigning icons to adhere to brand standard
Icons in Huawei App used to be dark and small. As the navigation bar is at the beginning of the screen, it's one of the first things that attract the user's attention. To make the icons match the design of the promo page, yet remain simple, I decided to create minimalistic and simple icons. This way, they would remain a helping tool, without distracting users before they need navigation.

Self-reflection
Reflecting on this project, I have three takeaways:
Crafting design that is accessible to a wide range of users is difficult. We must balance aesthetics with universal usability.
Avoid creating too many new design elements; consistency is key.
Ensure that each product card has enough space for editing, adding special offers, etc. Otherwise, you'll be stuck making frequent changes.
